Steig, W. (1982). Doctor De Soto. Toronto, ON: McGraw-Hill Ryerson Ltd.
Brief Annotation: Doctor De Soto and his wife, two kind mice, run a busy dentist office, but there are certain patients that they won’t accept- any animals that are dangerous to mice! When a sly, but pitifully uncomfortable, fox comes to their doorstep with a toothache the De Soto’s decide to take a risk and help him. While under the influence of laughing gas, the fox discloses how tasty he thinks mice are (with a pinch of salt of course!), and the De Soto’s decide that they need to protect their safety on his next visit. Can the De Soto’s out-fox a fox?
