Brief Annotation: When 12-year-old Claudia becomes fed-up with her home life, she decides to run away, picking 9-year-old Jamie, her most dependable and resourceful brother to come along on the adventure. The two siblings decide to run away and live in the Metropolitan Museum in New York. They make a clean getaway, just as ultra-organized Claudia has planned, and find themselves living for a week amidst priceless artwork on a 30 dollar budget. While trying to learn about the pieces of art in the museum, they find themselves intrigued by the mystery of a new piece of artwork that is claimed to be made by the famous Michelangelo. They are determined to solve the mystery of who made the statue, and are helped by an equally mysterious Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.
