We Share Everything
Munsch, R. (1999). We Share Everything. Illustrated by Michael Martchenko. Toronto, Ontario, Canada: Scholastic Canada.
Brief Annotation: Jeremiah and Amanda have entered their first day of Kindergarten without the skill of sharing. Their tactics they use at home to get their way are not working, so they finally give in and try this sharing thing. They decide to swap clothes as their first go around at sharing, which is not well received by the teacher. She asks them what they are doing, and the whole class tells her they were taught to share everything!
Genre: Contemporary Realistic Fiction
Grade Level: Pre-K to Grade 3
Readers who will like this: Children who are going to be entering Kindergarten or currently in school.
Response/Rating (1-4): The book has earned a 4. The context of the book teaches a great lesson on sharing, and gives the ability to make a lesson on sharing more understandable. The illustrations in the book allow students a vivid aid in imagining the wisdom found in the pages.
One question you would ask before a read aloud: What does it mean to share?
