Cat’s journey through the art studio results in amazing artwork and as cat jumps into the owner’s arms, she realizes cat has found a way into her heart as well.

Grade Level: PreS through Grade 2

Readers who will like this: Children who like animal stories, Children who like stories with cats as main characters, children who would benefit from a story with repetitive, predictable text and colorful watercolor illustrations

Response/Rating (1-4): 4, With its simple text and bright watercolor illustrations, the book would make a good read aloud story for younger children or a good text for beginning readers in phonics instruction. The author places the text in various positions on the pages, for example, “down fell cat” is written vertically instead of horizontally and this would assist young readers in building comprehension skills through visualization as well.

One question you would ask before a read aloud: What does it mean to be curious?
