On the day that you were born

Frasier, D. (1991). On The Day That You Were Born. Orlando, FL :Harcourt Inc.

Brief Annotation: Debra Frasier writes about all the activities that are happening in and around the world at the very second that a child is born. This book makes one life seem so small in the great big world around it, and still manages to make that life seem important and valuable.

Grade Level: Pre K-6

Readers who will like this: This a great book to read aloud. I expanded the grade level to 6 because this book teaches so many new vocabulary words and ideas I don’t believe any grade is too old. Anyone who loves reading about the processes of our planet would enjoy this book.

Response/Rating (1-4): 4; I love the combination of short passages and images. This is a beautiful book.

One question you would ask before a read aloud: Do your parents tell you a story of the day that you were born?
