Falconer, I. (2000) Olivia. New York, NY: Antheneum Books for Young Readers.
Brief Annotation: This is a book about a little girl (pig) who is clearly the princess in her family. She is very opinionated and it seems like she frequently gets her way. But, she is also very loving.
Genre: Animal fantasy
Grade level: PreK-1
Readers who will like this book: Little girls, especially the headstrong ones.
Response/rating: 4 I really like this book Olivia reminded me a lot of myself. I too and the oldest child, spoiled rotten and always right. I also loved the illustrations—it was so cool to see what Falconer can do with such a limited palate of colors
One question you would ask before read aloud: How would your dad describe you?
